Problem Solving

Business Meeting

These competencies are important to many jobs  particularly for more professional levels where incumbents (e.g. Process Engineers, Chemists, HR Specialists, Senior Accountants, Business Analysts, Quality Engineers, Senior Sales Representatives, Account Managers, Marketing Product Managers, Purchasing Agents, etc.) are expected to be able to analyze data, employ problem solving, critical thinking, leveraging their experience to see common patterns that enable them to address situations that could cause problems if not addressed.  An aspect of original thought must also be present, to combine several different observations or ideas into a new solution to solve a new problem.   In order to be effective, one must also have the ability to convince and persuade others to accept a solution.  They need to be able to turn ideas into action that achieves a desired result.
